To the editor of THE EAGLE:

I was surprised by the callous treatment used in the removal of PHS baseball coach Bob Moynihan. After serving many years as one of the finer coaches in the state it would seem that the administration acted harshly in its handling of the situation. To take such action on the complaints of a few gutless people who wish not to be identified seems rash at best.

I hope we get a better response to why he was told he was not going to be reappointed after so many years of service. Having umpired many Pittsfield games, I always found Bob to be a gentleman whose teams exhibited good sportsmanship and respect to all participants at the games.
