PITTSFIELD -- Shaquille Ardrey scored 15 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter to lead Taconic to a 57-53 win over Drury on Friday.
The game was close all night," said Taconic coach Bill Heaphy. "It was never more than two or four points the whole way. Drury did a great job sloughing off on Mike Taylor. But Shaq took over in the fourth quarter."
Alex Heck led the Blue Devils with 22.
St. Joe 62, Mount Everett 60
PITTSFIELD -- Pat Latini connected on a three-point play with time running down to give the Crusaders their first win of the year.
"It's been a while coming," said Crusader coach Randy Kinnas.
Kinnas cited Latini's work but also singled out David Lewis, called up from the junior varsity this week, for special praise.
"He scored 11 points, but more importanly, he had 10 rebounds," said Kinnas of Lewis. "He did a great job off the boards, something we've been missing."
Sage Angell scored 18 for the Eagles.
Lenox 62, Monument 59
GREAT BARRINGTON -- Kris Vahle scored 26 points, including 14 free throws, to lead the Millionaires to this win.
"It was close the whole way, pretty much a back-and-forth game," said Spartan coach Mike Saporito. "They had a big advantage from the free throw line. we were seven of 14. They were 22 of 28."
Pete Oggiani led Monument with 15.
Hoosac 62, Wahconah 33
CHESHIRE -- Solid defense and the long-range shooting of Sean Ryan-Kut led Hoosac.
Ryan-Kut led all scorers with 18, and his two three-pointers in the second quarter helped the Hurricanes extend their lead to seven at halftime.
"Our defense played pretty well tonight," Hoosac coach Bill Robinson said. [Wahconah] struggled to shoot the ball and got into some foul trouble early. The second and third quarter doomed them."
McCann 54, Smith Voc. 52
NORTHHAMPTON -- McCann Tech guard Shane Fuller (27 points) hit a clutch shot late in the fourth quarter.
With 30 seconds left in the game, Fuller stepped back on the right wing to sink a three-pointer to put the Hornets up two.
The Hornets gave away a third quarter lead as Smith started the fourth on a 14-0 run. The Hornets came up with a defensive stop on Smith's final possession as Smith's shot missed at the buzzer.
"Tough to lose a big lead like that and come back and win," McCann coach Mike Nykorchuck said. "Very satisfying to come back after you lose all the momentum like that."
Girls basketball: Greylock 53, St. Joseph 11
PITTSFIELD -- The Mounties jumped out to a 16-2 lead after a quarter.
"I was pleased with our intensity on defense," said Greylock coach Paul Barrett. "I also thought we shared the ball well."
Lucy Barrett scored 19 to lead all scorers.
