WILLIAMSTOWN -- Eugene Langdoc, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Langdoc of Mill Street, will be a member of the Boston University Symphonic Band when it plays at Mt. Greylock Regional High School Jan. 31 during its four-state tour.
A graduate of Williamstown High School in the class of 1954, he was a member of the first band formed at that school, and was selected for the All-State Band. He was graduated from the Berklee School of Music, Boston, in 1958 and served for two years in the Army as a member of the Army Band at Fort Dix, N.J., and at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. ADAMS -- Officers of the Adams Bakery Assn. Inc., headed by Thaddeus Blasik as president, were elected at the annual meeting Saturday night.
Other officers are: Vice president, Joseph A. Morawiec; secretary, Louis Koperniak; treasurer, Fred J. Koczela; directors, Chester Adamczyk, Peter Zabek, John S. Wilk, Stanley Mikuszewski and Thaddeus Turoczy.

CLARKSBURG -- Deron Estes, an eighth grade student at the Clarksburg Elementary School has won the school's geography bee, Jan. 17 and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship.
The National Geographic Society will fly all first-place winners from the state bee, along with their teacher escorts, to Washington, D.C. to participate in the National Geography Bee finals on May 18-19.
CLARKSBURG -- Officers and directors have been elected at North Adams Country Club. They are: Charles Lewitt, president; M. Sidney Taft, vice president and corresponding secretary; Madelon Ottman, treasurer; John Gaffey, Edward Buckley, William Elder, Polly Sadlowski, Norman Remillard, Robert Rivard, James Cariddi, Edward Pilot and Joel Pierce.
Lewitt replaces the retiring Joel Pierce, and Gaffey replaces the retiring Lionel Roy.

NORTH ADAMS -- The McCann girls basketball team enters this season on a high note from winning the state vocational championship and their third consecutive tri-county league championship in 2003. Led by co-captains, Heather LaCasse and Rachel Desautels, team members are Amanda Burdick, Courtney Brosnihan, Kelly Gibbons, Kayleigh Wandrei, Monica Zustra, Amanda Marceau, Nina Reynolds, Kristy Samson and Chris Maher.
NORTH ADAMS -- Blue Devil senior forward Tim Maselli scored 11 points in a span of 2:07 Tuesday night to spark a 17-3 run that led Drury (7-3) to a 71-46 win against St. Joe. Sophomore center Colin Hurd capped the run with a fast break layup at 8:28 to make it 63-42, and the Blue Devils cruised to the win. Kurtis Beauchamp added four points and an assist in that streak for the Blue Devils.
