WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- A Westborough man charged with repeatedly stabbing his 72-year-old mother has been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
Daniel Uhlman was arraigned Friday on several charges including attempted murder.
The dangerousness hearing was scheduled for Wednesday.
Authorities say he used four kitchen knives to stab his mother in the head and torso Thursday night in the home they share.
The woman called police and was found in a bathroom "bleeding profusely." She was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive.
Her son was caught walking down the street nearby covered in blood.
Police did not disclose a motive.
His lawyer argued for bail saying he has strong ties to the area and no violent criminal history.
