ADAMS -- Miss Elizabeth Tarsa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond J. Tarsa of 30 First St., was capped in a class of 90 nursing students in a candlelight ceremony Sunday afternoon in Our Lady of Providence Chapel of St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, Worcester.
Tarsa, a native of Adams, was graduated last June from Adams Memorial High School and enrolled in the School of Nursing in September.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Two Mount Greylock Regional High School students are finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program, Guidance Director Maurice Filler announced today.
They are Patricia Power, daughter of Prof. and Mrs. John H. Power of Gale Rd., and David M. Burns, son of Prof. and Mrs. James M. Burns of 115 Park St., Williamstown. 25 years ago today
GREAT BARRINGTON -- Drury High school’s Kurt Collins became one of just two wrestlers to win a Division II Western Massachusetts championship in both his freshman and sophomore years, by conquering the 119-pound weight class at the WM championships at Monument Mountain on Saturday. Drury’s only other finalist was no surprise, as John Trombley finished runner-up for the second straight year at 125 pounds.
CHESHIRE -- Kerry Mularczyk’s 28 points led Hoosac to a 65-40 victory over Taconic Sunday, making her the Hurricanes’ all-time leading scorer with 1,189 points. Mularczyk broke Paula Hayden’s 1977 record of 1,186 points. Lori McLaren scored eight points while Karen Wisniowski had 10 points.

NORTH ADAMS -- Stephen St. Clair, M.D., began his two-year term as president of the medical staff of North Adams Regional Hospital at the group’s recent annual meeting. St. Clair succeeds Richard Provenzano, M.D.
St. Clair is a board-certified urologist with Associates in Urology in North Adams. He lives in Williamstown with his wife and two children.
PITTSFIELD -- Damon George and Brandon Burnham hooked up on three goals as the Mount Greylock hockey team finished its season with a 4-2 win over Taconic at the Pittsfield Boys’ and Girls’ Club Wednesday night. T. J. Kasuba scored the other goal off of a feed from Jake Williams and Ross Thurston.
