To the editor of THE EAGLE:

Why is it that people from out of town always know what is best for Berkshire County? Otherwise they don’t even know we exist! Who would know how to better serve the people here than those who live and work here? ("Centralizing medical transportation: State’s prescription has foes," Eagle, Feb. 24).

They will come in here and not save a dime, but will succeed in messing up a well-oiled machine and cost us jobs as well as the convenience patients enjoy. The drivers here are the most compassionate and caring people you will find, and patients deserve to have the best -- after all, they have enough to worry about.
