LENOX -- Two men suffered non life-threatening injuries after a head-on collision near Mazcots Sports Bar & Grill, authorities say.

The crash occurred on Pittsfield Road at around 4:30 p.m., the Lenox Police Department reported.

According to police, Anthony Urella, 22, of Oxford, was driving southbound in a 2003 Ford Ranger when he veered and struck a 2006 Saturn, operated by John Plant, 58, of Lenox.

Plant was waiting at a red light in the northbound lane about to turn into the Price Chopper located at 495 Pittsfield Rd.

Lenox Ambulance and County Ambulance tranported both men from the scene to Berkshire Medical Center.

According to police, Lenox Fire Department extricated Urella from the Ranger, which suffered extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Pittsfield and state police closed Pittsfield Road for 30 minutes while first responders removed the wreckage.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway and no charges have yet resulted, according to Lenox police.
