To the editor of THE EAGLE:

I so enjoyed Ruth Bass’ column Monday on food memories, especially her mention of a memorable woman of the Jewish community, Adele Goldblum. Yes, many of us are still using Adele’s recipe for hamentaschen.

These lovely Purim pastries not only bring back memories, they help us make new and wonderful ones. We love to share the delicious apricot, raspberry, and prune hamentaschen with friends of different faiths.

Amid discussion of the Jewish holiday, laughter, sharing of family stories, and the deliciousness on the tongue, bonds are being made. These friendships that surpass all differences of races and creeds are what humanity is all about.
