PITTSFIELD -- A New Ashford man accused of raping a woman in Pittsfield last November remains free after denying the charges.

Dustin D. Clark, 30, of Beach Hill Road, allegedly sexually assaulted a 25-year-old woman in Pittsfield on Nov. 4.

Clark, appearing with his attorney, Thomas C. Doyle, pleaded not guilty in Berkshire Superior Court on Tuesday to single counts of rape and indecent assault and battery on a person over 14.

Judge John A. Agostini released Clark on personal recognizance.

Assistant Berkshire District Attorney Rachael Eramo did not ask for bail in the case but requested the defendant be ordered to stay away from and not have any contact with the alleged victim. The judge ordered the defendant to abide by that condition.

Clark is due back in September for a pretrial hearing.

Because the file was sealed by the court, no more information on the case was publicly available
