To the editor of THE EAGLE:

The article "Seeking remedies after tragedy" which appeared in the Saturday, March 22 paper lacked one ingredient as a primary solution to the problem of violence.

I was an elementary school counselor about 40 years ago and at that time I worked with individual children, groups, and complete classes. I also worked with the parents, teacher, other psychologists and psychiatrists, as well as administrators, We almost had a complete picture of the child. We could detect home problems, bullying and effectiveness of learning. As a result, we could direct solutions and procedures to address the situation.

I would strongly suggest that certified counselors be employed in every elementary school and if the cost could save one life, what an inexpensive investment!
