To the editor of THE EAGLE:

The closing of North Adams Regional Hospital and its affiliated medical practices is just another huge hit on Northern Berkshire residents.

It is an abomination that a small group (of for the most part outsiders) has stolen away our right to live for their own profit and made us third-class citizens without rights. There has been something mischievous all along with the operations of the parent, Northern Berkshire Heath Care. Any organization that purchases other entities as it did with Sweetwood, then sells them off a few short years later for multi-millions in losses has to be a questionable deal. I wonder if those so-called CEOs made a ton of money?

This state and the federal government need to step in now and keep this medical institution going, along with the family medical practices of that system.
