To the editor of THE EAGLE:

I am a 75-year-old resident of North Adams who has been fighting cancer for 25 years. Over the years, I have made many, many trips to North Adams Regional Hospital (NARH). I have always been very satisfied with the friendly and expert care I received. I am convinced they have saved my life on more than one occasion.

The news of NARH closing has been devastating not only for myself and other elders, but for the entire community. This could result in a catastrophic outcome for accident victims, heart attack and stroke patients who need immediate attention.

I have the utmost respect for all the doctors, nurses, medical staff, and all the other employees. I want to wish them all the best, and I am praying for a positive solution to the situation. My very best to you all.
