To the editor of THE EAGLE:

How do you say good-bye to a bolt of lightning; to those eyes that twinkled, that smile that said so much?

Jeff Winslow was the embodiment of energy, encouragement and pride. Pittsfield will never again have a cheerleader like him -- no one could compare. Always sweeping, shoveling, getting other merchants to do the same, calling City Hall to get the sweepers out, decorations, events and so on, on time. Jeff would be running from store to store with flyers, ideas and doing whatever he could to make downtown better. He had enough pride for all of us.

Whenever we needed advice in marketing or wanted to throw out a new idea, we went to Jeff. He was a clown, a serious man, helpful, enjoyed life and was respected by many.

The lights are out at Wild Sage, but not in our hearts and memories of this man we called friend. You are greatly missed.
