Lovely little front page article about Angela Davis' visit to Williams College. Aren't we fortunate?

It glosses over her arrest in the early ‘70s. Makes it sound like she was in jail for handing out fliers on the sidewalk. No mention of Judge Harold Haley getting his head blown off by Professor Davis' sawed-off shotgun. Oh well.

Editor's note: Ms. Davis was charged with aggravated assault and first-degree murder in 1970 on the grounds that she had purchased at least two of the guns used in a California courtroom hostage-taking, including the shotgun that killed Judge Harold Haley a short time after the taking of hostages. She did not participate in the incident. Her ownership of the weapons was proven in court but she was acquitted of both charges in 1972.
