NORTH ADAMS -- Members of the Berkshire County health care community have organized the Health and Wellness Fair for older adults and caregivers. Friday’s event will feature about 40 different health care entities.

The free fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth’s of Hungary Parish Center on St. Anthony Drive in North Adams.

"Because of all the health care changes in North County, we thought this would be a good idea to help people better understand the new health care landscape," said Kira Breard, event organizer and account executive at Amedisys Home Health Services. "We hope for a fun community day -- educational, but fun too."

"We hope this will be a resourceful event to help empower older adults with their health care decisions," said Denise Vigna, admissions and marketing coordinator for the Craneville Place Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Dalton.

Amedysis and Sugar Hill Senior Living Community are sponsors of the fair.
