WOBURN, Mass. (AP) - A Somerville man has been convicted of killing another man with the power cords of video game systems he was stealing from the victim.

A Middlesex Superior Court Jury found 33-year-old Michael Barnett guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery on Monday in the Nov. 22, 2009 death of 24-year-old Christopher Souza.

The Middlesex district attorney's office says Souza's mother found her son lying motionless on his living floor the following morning, with power cords wrapped around his neck.

Police later discovered Souza's Xbox and PlayStation gaming consoles were missing, and the cords had been used in the strangulation.

Police say Barnett sold the PlayStation for $50 in drug money.

Barnett is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday morning.
