PITTSFIELD -- Arrest warrants are out for a man and woman after they didn't to show up for their arraignments Monday to face drug charges.

In Berkshire Superior Court, Judge John A. Agostini issued warrants for Damien Galloway, 32, and Geraldine Keele, 51, both of Pittsfield.

On the evening of May 20, drug investigators in an unmarked police cruiser witnessed a hand-to-hand crack cocaine deal on Madison Avenue between Galloway and Keele, according to police.

Galloway, "a validated member" of the Crips gang, was seen handing something to Keele, who in turn gave the man some cash, according to a Pittsfield Police report.

Officers arrested both of them after Keele admitted she had just bought $80 worth of crack from Galloway, police said. The drugs later field tested positive for cocaine, police said.

No drugs were found on Galloway but $460 in cash was confiscated from him.

Both later denied the charges at their arraignments in district court. Galloway was charged with cocaine distribution as a subsequent offense and Keele was charged with possession of cocaine as a subsequent offense.

Police said Galloway had prior convictions for drug distribution and for illegal possession of a firearm.
