PITTSFIELD -- A local man was arraigned Monday in Berkshire Superior Court in connection with an assault at the Berkshire County Jail & House of Correction.
According to the district attorney's office, Timothy B. Domina II, 29, pled not guilty to one count of aggravated assault and battery in connection with an incident on July 16, 2014.
Judge Daniel Ford released Domina on personal recognizance, as Domina is presently serving time on another charge.
Domina, a sex offender serving time for breaking and entering and other charges, attacked a man as he was exiting the shower room at the House of Correction.
According to a probable cause report by the Berkshire County Sheriff's office, Domina had removed Hudson's glasses from the shower room just before the attack.
Hudson suffered contusions to his face and head, a broken dental plate and other injuries.
After the beating, Hudson, in jail for a drug offense, had trouble responding to questions. His injuries were severe enough to require authorities to transfer him to Berkshire Medical Center.
The attack was reportedly precipitated when Hudson turned in a bag of prescription pills to the jail staff he found in the laundry room where both men worked.
Domina was terminated from working in the laundry room. He believed Hudson had something to do with that, and planned the act, according to the report.
Domina is a level 3 sex offender who was convicted of five counts of rape and abuse of a child and a single count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age in 2001.
