WORCESTER, MASS. >> Police are now investigating the possible theft of human skeletal remains from a second mausoleum at a Worcester cemetery.

Police said Wednesday that their investigation into the previous theft skeletal remains of five bodies from a Hope Cemetery mausoleum led to the new discovery. In the second case, the remains of three bodies may have been stolen.

Worcester police are now searching all city cemeteries for signs of break-ins and thefts.

A Hartford, Connecticut, man us being held on $100,000 bail in connection with the first theft. Amador Medina has pleaded not guilty to five counts of disinterment of a body.

Police do not think he acted alone.

Authorities have said the 32-year-old Medina practices Santeria, a religion practiced widely in the Caribbean. His lawyer has not commented.
