BROCKTON, MASS. >> Police say a 17-year-old Brockton boy struck in the back by a bullet that passed through his home's kitchen window was not the intended target.
The teen was struck by a bullet fired from outside at about 8 p.m. Monday.
Lt. Kenneth LeGrice says the victim was struck below the right shoulder blade by a bullet that exited through the front.
He was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton before being transferred to Boston Medical Center. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
His name was not made public.
LeGrice says investigators recovered a "large amount" of shell casings from both 9 mm and .40-caliber weapons that had been fired in the shooting, but there was no word on arrests.
