BOSTON >> The city of Boston is presenting "A Day of Service and Celebration" to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

The events will be held in Faneuil Hall on Monday, the federal holiday honoring the achievements of the civil rights leader.

Mayor Martin Walsh says this will be the 8th annual day of service and celebration the city has sponsored in partnership with the Museum of African American History and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Tributes to King will feature classical and spiritual pieces performed by the orchestra.

Topper Carew, a civil rights activist, filmmaker and MIT scholar, will deliver the keynote address.

The events are free and open to the public.
