UXBRIDGE, MASS. >> A pair of Uxbridge paramedics went above and beyond the call of duty when they were called to a home in town for a woman in labor.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that Lillian Hampton and Roger Lavallee responded to Maureen and Aaron Spratt's home on Sunday morning when the pregnant mom woke up and knew she would never make it to the hospital.

Fire Chief William Kessler says the paramedics participated in a "textbook delivery."

Mother and baby, an 8-pound, 3-ounce boy, named William, were doing fine.

Maureen Spratt later took to the Uxbridge Fire Department's Facebook page to show her appreciation for the paramedics and police officers who responded.

Kessler says in accordance with tradition, all the first responders who helped in the delivery will get stork pins.
