Segala, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Segala of 84 Bradley St., is in the Machine Technology program. He is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship, the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendent's Award for Academic Excellence, and was also awarded the Outstanding Vocational Technical Student Award.
During his time at McCann, Segala was a gold medalist at both the 2007 and 2008 SkillsUSA State and National Competitions. This year, he won a gold medal in Mechatronics at the State level and will be advancing to the National level this June in Kansas City, Mo.
Segala has been a four year student of the pre-engineering program, Project Lead The Way, SkillsUSA chapter president, member of the National Honor Society and School Council, Boys' State delegate, and has represented his shop on the Advisory Board.
He will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the fall, majoring in engineering.
Nuvallie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Nuvallie of 155 Middle Road, Clarksburg, is in the Culinary Arts program. She is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award.
A Culinary Arts gold medal winner at the SkillsUSA District competition, Nuvallie advanced to the State level and was awarded a silver medal. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been a student participant in the Cooperative Education program in both her junior and senior years.
In addition, she is a school council member, student representative for the Culinary Arts Advisory Board and a SkillsUSA member.
Nuvallie will attend Bay Path College in the fall.
