On Sunday night at the Barrington Stage, I was happier to be a member of the diocese of Springfield than I have been for the last five years. Sixteen priests, 15 singing and one documenting it, represented the core of all that is good about this district. Their songs, comradeship, jokes and quips kept the audience entertained for a couple of hours. You could feel the genuine affection between those on stage and the packed house sitting in front of them.
They sang wholeheartedly, with beauty and gusto, both the "New Wine" and the "Old Wineskins." The brotherhood they share was apparent in their interactions and laughter. Thanks to each of the performers, for this, and for all that you do. Can’t wait for an encore!
