To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I find it quite interesting that a "group of scientists" can evaluate the throwing motion of 20 college athletes and present their observations as "new evidence" that their ability is an "evolutionary adaptation" that "first appeared Š 1.8 million years ago" ("Why we throw so well: Evolution," Eagle, June 27).
The article goes on to explain the unique and complicated design of the human body. Nowhere in the article is there any trace of an explanation of this "new evidence," but, I am sure, this will be added to the many myths that make up the "proof" that the theory of evolution is real.
The Bible (Genesis chapter 1) clearly tells us that God created man in His own image and that He created every living creature according to its "kind" and told man to rule over all of them. He did not create some primates that would evolve differently than others of its "kind" to eventually rule over them. Man was created as a unique "kind" by God for a purpose, not an accidental evolution.
Before you write your letter to disagree with my opinion, I challenge you to read Genesis Chapters 1 and 2 and give some thought to what God has said. If after you have done so you are convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was no divine creation, write.
