The Williams College Department of Music will present I/O Fest ‘14, a three-day festival of new music from around the globe, this Thursday through Saturday in Williamstown.

The festival includes five concerts with several world premieres, music of many composers, performances by the I/O Ensemble and IOTA, and special guest ensemble-in-residence counter induction.

free tango

Want a little tango with your art? Friday, from 5 to 10 p.m., celebrates the opening of "A Tango Diary," a photography exhibit by Sabine Vollmer von Falken, at Six Depot Roastery and Café in West Stockbridge. Then, it's Tango Night at Six Depot. The night includes a live tango demonstration and class donated by TangoPulse, followed by a deejayed open tango milonga for all. movie night

The Little Cinema at Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield will screen Director John Krokidas' "Kill Your Darlings" (rated R), Friday through Monday at 7 p.m., with a Monday matinee at 1:30.

A true story of friendship, love and murder, "Kill Your Darlings" recounts the pivotal year that changed Allen Ginsberg's (Daniel Radcliffe) life forever, bringing him together with William S. Burroughs (Ben Foster) and Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) at Columbia University in 1944, providing the spark that would lead to their Beat Revolution. However, for all their creativity, their very appetites and choices lead to more serious transgressions that would mark their lives forever.

The Meat Market's third annual Sausage Fest kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday and goes until 6 p.m. Try one or all 13 handmade sausages there or to-go, with flavors ranging from cheese beer bratwurst to pumpkin pancetta. There will also be beer, wine and music to add to the entertainment.
