PITTSFIELD -- Pittsfield's boys swim team moved to 11-0 with a 72-17 win over New Lebanon on Tuesday while the girls fell to the Indians, 48-46.
Aaron Coty and Matt Salvie had a pair of individual wins each for the General boys. Coty took the 200 free (2:14.41) and the 50 free (25.88) while Salvie won the 200 IM (2:47.57) and the 100 fly (1:43.49).
In the girls race, New Lebanon went 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke with Hannah French winning in 1:24.1 and Gigi French finishing second in 1:29.93, just ahead of Pittsfield's Hannah King in 1:30.13. That proved to be the difference. Jessie Marsh (200 free, 500 free), Nicole Belknap (100 fly, 100 back) and Theresa Murphy (200 IM, 100 free) all were double winners for Pittsfield.
Monument, Taconic split
GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Spartan girls won 99-71 while the Taconic boys earned a 90-76 victory.
Monument's Maeve Wilber (200 IM, 100 freestyle), Kayla Dillon (200 free, 100 fly) and Anna Zdziarski (500 free, 100 breaststroke) were double winners in the girls meet. Taconic's Gillian Campbell captured the 100 backstroke.
George Sommerville won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke for the Taconic boys. Monument's Will Palmer (50 free, 100 fly) and Dominic Roy (100 free, 100 backstroke) each won two events.
Monument 69, Everett 9
GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Spartans, coming off a 3-2 weekend at the Ichabod Crane duals, split the four contested matches.
Everett's Pat Fosby pinned Eli Jones in the third period of the 106-pound match while the Eagles' Bradley Lupiani got a 15-0 win over Nate Bradbury at 120 pounds. Monument's Mark Leon-Duque won 2-0 at 170 pounds over Nick Turnbough. Jacob Hines of Monument pinned Tracy Anstett in the first period at 195 pounds.
The victory moved Monument to 12-10 on the year. The Spartans got a win over Cohoes (N.Y.) at the Ichabod Crane duals. Cohoes eventually won the tournament and Monument lost by just four to the tournament host.
Ludlow 11, Wahconah 6
SPRINGFIELD -- The Warriors had a first period to forget against Ludlow, allowing six goals in a 6 minute, 24 second-span before getting their first. They played even the rest of the way, but still lost 11-6.
Ryan Ouimet and Lane Grogan each had two goals and two assists for Wahconah. Nick Montferret had a goal and 2 assists.
Williams women's hockey
WILLIAMSTOWN -- There wasn't much offense, but Gabrielle Vukasin's goal with 1 minute, 20 seconds left in overtime led the Ephs to a 2-1 win over Castleton State.
Castleton needed a goal at 13:38 of the third period to force overtime because of a Sam Weinstein power-play tally in the second period.
Rachel Nguyen made 27 saves for the Ephs, who put 38 shots on Castleton's Jess Cameron.
