According to the Pittsfield Police, just before noon on Friday, a 42-year-old woman who was trying to fix a flat tire on her vehicle in the Summer Street parking garage in Pittsfield was approached by a male acquaintance who offered to help her. Instead, he reached into her purse and stole an undisclosed amount of money before running off, said police.
"We have a suspect in the case," said Pittsfield Police Sgt. Matthew Hill, who is heading up the investigation.
On Friday afternoon, police were searching the Summer Street area with a K-9 unit, but failed to find the man. He remains at large.
