PITTSFIELD -- Pittsfield maintained its perfect start to the 2103 volleyball season, but Taconic pushed the Generals to the limit.
Pittsfield won a five-set match over the Braves 13-25, 25-23, 26-24, 18-25, 15-8. It's the seventh consecutive five-set match the two teams have played.
Pittsfield coach Brian Lawton said that with one returning veteran in Sienna Carpenter, he is very happy with the 3-0 start.
"For a new team, it's really important to support each other on the court," Lawton said. "They did a really awesome job of that tonight."
Carpenter had seven kills and three digs for PHS, while Emma Burnick had three blocks, five assists and three kills and Emily Koldys chipped in with 10 kills and four digs.
Taconic's Haley Hubbard had 16 kills, two aces and three digs, Isabelle George had a kill, nine digs and an ace while Nyanna Slaughter had 12 kills and two digs.
Lenox 3, Monument 0
LENOX -- Kristin Read had 15 assists and scored 15 service points to keep Lenox unbeaten with a 3-0 sweep of Monument Mountain on Wednesday night, 25-6, 25-16, 25-6.
"We played really well as a team tonight," said Lenox coach Ed Paquette. "As a coach, it was gratifying to watch."
Read added four aces, while Suzanne Woller had four kills, four aces, five digs and 21 service points and Liz Mitts had 10 kills, two aces and four digs.
For the Spartans, Caitlyn Osak had three kills and three digs and Jordyn Goodrich added four digs.
Lee 3, Mount Everett 0
SHEFFIELD -- Kendra Williams had 19 assists to lead the Wildcats to this sweep, 25-10, 25-13, 25-10.
Katie Morin had 11 kills and eight assists for the Wildcats, while Courtney Picard had seven kills.
Kayla Krom had three kills and three digs for the Eagles, while Jess Abbott added two kills and three blocks.
Taconic 4, Lee 2
LEE -- The two teams battled to a 2-2 tie at halftime, before the Braves pushed across two scores after intermission to win.
"We still have to learn how to put 80 minutes together," said Taconic coach John Flynn. "They outplayed us in the first half."

PITTSFIELD -- The Wildcats' Jared Fadding and Andrew Consolati contnued to hit well, carding a 35 and 37 respectively, at the par-35 Berkshire Hills Country Club.
"It's tough to keep up with those two," said Taconic coach Mike Hillman. "They both had a good afternoon."
Fadding birdied the second and eighth holes, while Taconic's John Keegan had a birdie on the first hole. T-Bone Lingebach led the Braves with a 40.

After Wednesday's 4-1 win over Mount Everett, the Hornets have scored 14 goals in three games to start the season. They've given up only one.
McCann used a strong second half to dispatch the Eagles on a hot, humid afternoon. McCann coach Tom Bona played to his strengths.
"Definitely our conditioning paid off," he said. "I did have extra subs, and I used them."
Shane Fuller sandwiched a Damon Couture tally with two of his own to give McCann a 3-0 lead with 13 minutes, 38 seconds left in the game. Sage Angell brought Everett within a pair with 10 to play, but McCann didn't yield another. Steven Lemire added a Hornet goal with 17 seconds left for good measure.
