HADLEY -- Williams College golf coach Rick Pohle and four of his Ephs earned All-NESCAC honors.

Pohle, who is also the head professional at the Taconic Golf Club, was named NESCAC coach of the year for the second consecutive season and the sixth time in a 30-year career that will end at the conclusion of the fall season.

Pohle was named coach of the year in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2011. He led the Ephs to four top-four finishes this fall, winning at the Bowdoin and Williams Invitational tournaments.

Four of Pohle’s players were named to the All-NESCAC second team. Dylan Dethier of Williamstown, Ross Bowen, Jake Goldenning and Matt McCarron earned the second-team honors. Goldenning is a sophomore and the other three are juniors.

Williams women’s soccer

CLINTON, N.Y. -- The Williams women and Hamilton battled to a scoreless draw Tuesday afternoon.

The Continentals actually outshot the Ephs 21-14, but both teams recorded five saves. Williams’ Laura Wann had two saves and teammate Hannah Van Wetter had three. Liza Gergenti had five saves for Hamilton (6-1-1, 4-1-1 in NESCAC).

The Ephs (5-2-1, 4-0-1) will play at Little Three rival Amherst on Saturday.

MCLA men’s soccer

NORTH ADAMS -- Seven different MCLA players scored as the Trailblazers routed SUNY-Cobleskill 7-0.

Matt Robinson had to make one save to get the shutout as the Trailblazers outshot Cobleskill 26-1.

Drew Webster’s goal at 11:07 gave MCLA the lead for keeps. Webster put in the rebound of a missed free kick.
