AMHERST -- Abby Morss scored twice in the second half to help Williams rally from an early two-goal deficit to earn a 3-2 women over rival Amherst.
Sarah Brink got the Ephs on the board just before halftime before Morss took over in the second half. Her game-winner came in the 90th minute.
Williams fell behind 2-0 after Amherst scored twice in a six-minute span late in the opening half. Brink scored just a minute later.
Laura Wann got the win for Williams, making four stops. Hannah Van Wetter allowed two goals and made two saves for the Ephs.
MCLA 1, Fitchburg State 0
NORTH ADAMS -- Jennifer Ferrari’s goal off a corner kick in the 67th minute was all the Trailblazers needed to hang on for the win.
Danielle Heinsohn made four saves to preserve the shutout for MCLA. The hosts out shot their guest 13-7 and had four corner kicks.
The Trailblazers return to the field Wednesday against visiting Western New England Universiy. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
Amherst 0, Williams 0
AMHERST -- Neither team was able to break the deadlock in this scoreless draw.
Amherst outshot the visitors 25-9 and had two more corner kicks, but it didn’t matter. Than Finan made six saves on the day to earn the shutout and move his record to 3-0-2. Thomas Bull had to make just two saves for the Lord Jeffs.
NORTH ADAMS --
In the win, MCLA’s Courtney Parent and Amanda Fleming each had five aces. The Trailblazers travel to Mass Maritime on Monday to face Becker and MMA.
