NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Sean Dougherty stopped 30 shots to record his second shutout of the season as the Williams men's hockey team beat Connecticut College 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Dougherty faced 26 shots over the first two periods as the Ephs jumped out to a 3-0 lead. But in the third period, the Eph defense clamped down on the Camels, holding them to four shots on goal.

John Wickman and Eric Rubino each scored two goals for the Ephs, now 11-4-2 and 9-2-1 in NESCAC. Wickman's goal at 1:10 of the first period was the game winner. Rubino also got an assist on Wickman's second goal against Conn. College (5-10-3, 1-8-3).

Bowdoin 5, Williams women 0

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Less than 24 hours after battling No. 1 Bowdoin to a tie, the Ephs had less good fortune on Saturday.

The Polar Bears (14-2-2, 8-1-1) scored three goals in the first seven minutes of the game and never trailed. Five different Bowdoin players scored. Chelsea MacNeil's goal at 2:32 was the game winner.

Williams (8-9-1, 4-5-1) was outshot 34-19. Chloe Billadeau made 29 saves.

Williams women 62, Middlebury 36

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Claire Baecher scored five of the Ephs' first nine points in a win over Middlebury (10-8, 2-3).

Baecher scored off the opening tip and then made it 9-0 on a 3-pointer with 16:24 left in the half.

The Ephs (15-3, 4-1) had another excellent defensive game, holding the visiting Panthers to 15 points in the first half.

MCLA men 77, Fisher 66

NORTH ADAMS -- Trailing by four points at halftime, the MCLA men (9-10) outscored visiting Fisher by 15 in the second half to get back on the winning track.

Coach Jamie Morrison's team came storming out for the second half and outscored Fisher 14-4 in the first 4:29, to get back in the game.

Tylar Shular's 3-point play with 9:13 left tied the game at 52, but Ruben DelRosario answered with a 3-point shot and the Trailblazer never trailed again.

DelRosario had a team-high 15 for MCLA, while John Johnes had 14 and Ramon Viches scored 13 off the bench.
