AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- It was another tough day on the diamond for the MCLA baseball team.

The Trailblazers fell to 1-5 after dropping a doubleheader to Gordon College on Wednesday. MCLA lost the opener 8-1 and fell in the nightcap 15-8.

MCLA starter Ross Miner was rocked for seven runs in the first inning, and that proved to be too much for the Trailblazers to come back from.

Chase Preite had two of MCLA's four hits.

In the nightcap, MCLA took a 5-0 lead in the first inning, thanks in part to RBI singles by Rory Slattery and Tyler Benoit. MCLA led 6-0 before Gordon came back to tie the score and go ahead with a 3-run fourth inning off reliever Robert Jutras.

Slayter Aubin and Preite had three hits each for the Trailblazers.
