Williams College junior Dylan Dethier, who has written an account of his year traveling around the lower 48 states in his quest to learn about himself, his country and where golf fits in, will appear at book signings in Williamstown and Lenox today and Saturday.

Today, the Williamstown native will be at Water St. Books in his hometown from 4:30-7:30 p.m. to sign copies of "18 in America," an absorbing coming-of-age tale.

On Saturday, he will be at the Bookstore in Lenox from 2- 4 p.m. In addition to signing books, there will be a question-and-answer session and putting for prizes.

Dethier, who took the year off between his senior year at Mount Greylock Regional High School and his freshman year at Williams and played at least 18 holes in every state, wrote about the journey.

His book has received rave reviews from the likes of CBS golf anchor Jim Nantz and PGA Tour star Jason Dufner.
