Berkshire County sent four wrestlers to the MIAA Division III wrestling championship semifinal round on Saturday.
They came away with a pair of secondplace finishes, and two third-place results.
Mount Everett's Bradley Lupiani and Mount Greylock's Johnny Colon took home second-place finishes.
Lupiani battled Eric Kerr (Lynnfield North Reading) for three periods. The score was close throughout, but Kerr was able to remain in control by riding Lupiani for much of the match, earning a 4-0 win and the state title in the 126-pound weight class.
"It's frustrating" having him ride most of the match, Lupiani said by phone. "I would have picked top in the second period had I known he was going to do that.
"He didn't stall, he just rode good, rode tight."
Lupiani didn't waltz into the state final. he earned it with a 6-4 win over Somerset's Nate Pacheco.
Colon learned just how dominant Triton's Mark Boyle is in their 182pound title match.
Colon was pinned in 30 seconds, giving him the second-place result.
Colon had a solid match in the semifinals to earn a spot in the title bout.
He controlled Norton's Elliott Johnson to the tune of a 15-8 decision in the semis.
Colon's teammate Travis Hilchey and Monument Mountain's Jonah Christianson lost their first matches of the tournament in the semifinal round, but rebounded to finish third.
Taconic's Dave Jones won his first match Saturday to stay alive and ended up finishing sixth.
