PITTSFIELD -- Lee's boys lacrosse team put together a big final quarter to beat Taconic 12-7 on Monday.

Visiting Lee entered the third quarter with a one-point lead over Taconic, and a 5-1 fourth iced the game for the Wildcats.

Cav Wolski led Lee with three goals and two assists. Mitchell Parise led Taconic with three goals.

"We played a horrible game," Taconic coach Bill O'Brien-Garvey said. "We did not play to our potential. Too many dropped balls."

LEE -- The Mounties took a 9-4 lead at the half and held it throughout the second half. Maggie Rorke and Julia Whitney scored four goals each to lead the Mounties. Rachel Clement, Sarah Stripp and Lucy Barrett each scored twice for the victors.

"The biggest thing, really, was controlling the ball," Lee coach Dave Galisa said. "They did very well on first-time ground balls, and they passed and caught very well. They're a good ball-control team."

Alyssa Kelly had five goals for Lee (2-1, 1-1 league).

"In the second half especially ... I think her attacking the middle [worked], but also Lydia taking some of the pressure off her [worked]," Galisa said. "She was definitely going to the net."

DALTON -- Wahconah used a smothering defense and strong offense to beat Hoosac.

Coach Kathy Budaj said her defense doubled the ball hard, limiting the shots on goal and forcing turnovers for Hoosac.

Wahconah goalies Kate Bachli and Liz Culpepper had to make only two saves total.

Jordan Budaj and Hannah Powell had three goals each. Holly Cadran led Hoosac with two goals.

LENOX -- Sam White and Cara Freadman earned singles wins for Monument Mountain (2-0), while Carly Shafiroff and Kay Kelly picked up a doubles victory for the Spartans.

The Monument pair beat Cami Smachetti and Emily Czeleniak 1-6, 6-1, 6-1.

"They made some adjustments and played well the last two sets and turned it around," Monument coach Jeff Caligari said. "Sam was serving really well. It was a windy day, and she handled the wind really well. Cara Freadman was just her steady self. She didn't make a lot of unforced errors."
