WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Ephs defended their Little Three men's golf championship Wednesday at the Taconic Golf Club, beating Amherst 10-2 and Wesleyan 12-0.
The event consisted of four alternate-shot morning matches and eight afternoon singles matches. The Ephs won all four of their morning matches against Wesleyan and were up 212-112 against Amherst going into the afternoon.
Mount Greylock grad and Ephs senior Dylan Dethier won both his singles matches in the afternoon, as did Max Elgart, Jake Abrahams, Ross Bowen, Jake Goldenring and Cody Semmelrock.
Williams men's tennis
HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Williams College men's tennis team ended a two-game losing skid Wednesday, beating Trinity. Williams is now 12-5, 5-2 in NESCAC.
Matt Micheli, Conrad Harron and Mount Greylock graduate Rohan Shastri earned singles wins for the Ephs -- all wins in straight sets. Trinity's only win came at No. 1 doubles. Williams is ranked fifth nationally in Division III, and play at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bowdoin.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Ephs dropped to 8-14 on the season, falling 4-3 at Skidmore.
Phil McGovern and Jack Cloud had RBI singles in the sixth for the Ephs, and Cloud's RBI groundout got Williams within a run in the eighth, but the Ephs would come no closer.
Daniel Smith (1-2) took the loss on the mound for Williams.
Williams men's lacrosse
Kiesel scored three times to lead Williams (9-6, 6-4 NESCAC). Dan Whittam made five saves.
Williams women's lacrosse
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Middlebury took a 9-1 halftime lead and never looked back in a 12-4 win at Williams.
Rebecca Bell scored twice for the Ephs (12-3, 7-3 NESCAC). Ali Piltch made seven saves in the loss.
NORTH ADAMS -- Ten MCLA athletes, representing the men's and women's basketball teams, were named to the MASCAC All-Academic Team on Wednesday.
