PITTSFIELD -- Alex Teichert led the way for Pittsfield's boys lacrosse team Monday, with five goals and four assists in a 15-4 win over Taconic at Kirvin Park.

Ryan Jacoby and Jack Salatino scored two goals each for the victors (6-2, 6-1), who led 8-1 at the half.

"We had a good effort off the ball, which led to a lot of goals," PHS coach Scott Aitken said.

GREAT BARRINGTON -- Brenden Ellsworth scored the winner approximately 30 seconds into the overtime period to give the Hurricanes (1-7) a sorely-needed victory.

Ellsworth, Josh Giron and Stephin Wallace scored two goals each for Hoosac, while Sam Capeless led Monument (2-8) with three goals.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mount Greylock battled at No. 1 doubles to secure a sweep over Lee.

Greylock (6-1, 6-0) coach Stephen Bryant said Jake Foehl and Gray Kaegi did not come out with their usual amount of energy. He said the pair played flat, but turned it on in the third set, beating Matty Kelley and Michael Eckert 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Every other Greylock competitor won in straight sets.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Mounties' No. 1 doubles team of Charlotte Rand and Tyra Nurmi survived four match points to win their match and score the decisive point in a win over the Wildcats.

With the match tied 2-2 -- the Mounties (6-2) won two of three singles matches while the Wildcats won at No. 2 doubles -- Rand and Nurmi pulled out the third-set tiebreaker 8-6 to defeat Sarah Winston and Maddie Disantis 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8).

"Charlotte and Tyra trailed 5-4 and 6-5 in the final set and then were down in the tiebreaker before pulling it out," said Mount Greylock coach John Jacobbe. "It was a great match in what was a great regular-season high school tennis match. All the matches were closely contested."

GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Spartans swept the doubles matches to clinch the win and improve their record to 7-0.

After Monument's top two singles players, Sam White and Cara Freadman, took straight set wins to put their team up 2-1, the No. 1 doubles duo of Carly Shafiroff and Molly Amstead defeated Pittsfield's Amanda Miller and Anna Worley 6-3, 6-1 to seal the victory.

The No. 2 team of Haley Higgins and Kaye Kelly added the fourth point with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Anna Black and Kaitlyn Barcus.

Taylor Turner earned a point for Pittsfield with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Daniela DeFelice.

PITTSFIELD -- The Millionaires won everywhere but No. 2 singles, but the Braves (1-4) didn't make things easy. Isabelle George stretched Victoria Vittori to three sets at No. 1 singles before Vittori won, and Liz Mitts and Cami Smachetti held off Nyanna Slaughter and Jackie Kays in a tight two-setter at No. 1 singles.

Taconic's lone win came from Angela O'Neil at No. 2 singles, in straight sets over Liz Jarck.

"It was just keeping the ball in," Taconic coach Anna Larkin said. "It was like a mirror match. She was just the patient one today."
