PITTSFIELD -- Pittsfield used speed to its advantage on Thursday on its ways to defeating city rival Taconic 15-9.

The Generals turned defense into offense, attacking quickly in transition and scoring fast-break goals

Taconic (6-10, 5-3) goalie Josh Tassone made 16 saves against a relentless attack, but Pittsfield's persistence resulted in seven different Generals scoring goals.

Alex Teichert led Pittsfield with four goals and three assists while Mike Perkett had four goals and three assists for Taconic.

"[Pittsfield] had a lot shots on goal," Taconic coach Bill O'Brien-Garvey said. "They're a very fast team. They got a lot of fast breaks and that's what got them a lot of goals."

LEE -- Lee (8-11, 4-4) scored in all but one inning on its way to a weather-shortened five-inning victory. ,

J.T. Brown picked up the win, allowing only three hits and striking out seven.

Brown helped his cause at the plate as well, going 2 for 3 with three RBI.

GREAT BARRINGTON -- Monument withstood a valiant seventh-inning comeback at tempt by Lee to come away with a narrow victory.

Trailing 10-5 lead heading into the final inning, Amy Goss hit a grand slam to cut Monument's lead to just one run. But the Generals couldn't produce any more late-inning magic against winning pitcher Aspen Sawyer, who retired the final two Wildcat batters.

The Spartans managed to win despite making seven errors that helped keep Lee's hopes alive until the end.

"It was a fun, competitive game," Monument coach Dave Brown said.

PITTSFIELD -- The Wildcats took advantage of two errors to score unearned runs in the third and fifth innings in their win over the Crusaders.

The runners who scored in those innings had reached base on St. Joe errors.

Lee pitcher Devyn Olds earned the win with five innings of one-run relief. Olds replaed starter Jake Simon in the third inning.

Simon led the Wildcats with two hits and an RBI.
