1 dead, 4 hurt in wrong-way crash on Massachusetts Turnpike
WESTBOROUGH, MASS. >> State police say a man driving the wrong way on the Massachusetts Turnpike has died in a head-on crash that injured four other people.
Police say the 28-year-old Rutland man was driving east on the westbound side of the highway in Westborough just before midnight Monday when he collided with two other vehicles.
The Rutland man, whose names was not immediately released, died.
Four occupants of the other two vehicles were taken to the hospital. Police could not immediately provide their conditions.
The crash backed up traffic for hours, but the highway was reopened at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
The crash remains under investigation.
