1 dead in Weston house fire
WESTON, Mass. (AP) -- Officials say one person has died in an overnight house fire in Weston.
Fire Chief David Soar says it’s the first fatal fire in the town in about 20 years.
The Wellesley Street home was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived just after midnight Friday, and were forced back by the intensity of the flames.
Soar says the homeowner was found dead near the front door. His name has not been released.
He is believed to be the only resident of the home, which was destroyed.
The cause remains under investigation.
