1 injured after car crashes into tree

PITTSFIELD -- Police say one person suffered serious injuries following a one-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon just west of Bousquet Ski Area.

At 1:39 p.m., city police and rescuers responded to a report of a car into a tree in front of 591 Tamarack Road.

The injured person, who has not yet been identified, was pulled from the wreckage and taken to Berkshire Medical Center, according to police. The incident caused the car’s airbags to deploy.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The incident shutdown that section of Tamarack Road to traffic for more than an hour.
