2 Massachusetts men nabbed by fugitive task force
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Island’s violent fugitive task force has arrested two men sought by authorities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire for separate alleged crimes.
Col. Steven O’Donnell, the superintendent of Rhode Island State Police, said 27-year-old Kerry Joseph and 29-year-old Brandon Dale Hayes, both of Boston, were arrested Wednesday morning at a residence in Pawtucket.
Authorities said Joseph is wanted in New Hampshire on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm for allegedly shooting a 19-year-old man in the chest in Rochester on July 29. He was arraigned Wednesday morning and waived extradition proceedings.
Police said Hayes is a fugitive from Massachusetts for a probation violation relating to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of ammunition. He also waived extradition during arraignment.
