5 arrested after Springfield Dunkin Donuts robbery

SPRINGFIELD (AP) -- It took police just a few minutes to track down the suspects in the armed robbery of a Springfield Dunkin’ Donuts.

An employee of the Page Boulevard coffee shop called police to say the store had been robbed at gunpoint just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspects fled in a gold-colored Jeep Cherokee, which was spotted by police just minutes later. Police say they recovered two weapons from the vehicle.

Five suspects between the ages of 19 and 22 were taken into custody and booked on armed robbery and gun charges.

They are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
