7 hospitalized after fire rips through Boston home

BOSTON >> Officials say a fire at a Boston home sent seven people to the hospital.

The blaze broke out at the two-story house at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood.

The house partially collapsed about an hour after the fire broke out. The flames grew with the help of gas in the basement before utility workers arrived to shut off the flow.

Investigators say 10 people were in the home at the time of the fire. Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald says three adults and two children were taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. Two firefighters were also hospitalized for evaluation.

MacDonald says it's not clear what sparked the blaze.
