A battle in the Berkshires

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — Despite a trend of store closings in recent years, the Berkshire Mall will be home to at least one new beginning this summer. Truly Independent Wrestling, Berkshire County's premier wrestling organization, will showcase its new venue in the mall on Saturday, with Battle in the Berkshires: Clean Slate.

The doors open at 6 p.m. and the first bell is at 6:30 p.m. General admission is $10. Kids ages 6-12 get in for $5 while kids 5 and under get in for free.

Truly Independent Wrestling offers the bone-crunching excitement of Vince McMahon's international professional wrestling empire and a special connection to local Berkshire area residents.

With previous events held in cramped churches, TIW's new venue, located in the space formerly occupied by Old Navy, will allow for a greater crowd capacity and the stability it needs to become a staple entertainment option in the county moving forward.

In the final match of the event, fan favorites AJ Badd and current champion Tyler Vincent will face off for the Truly Independent Wrestling title belt.

The exciting night also includes the Number One Contendership Fatal Four Way featuring Zack Clayton, Tyrek, Lance Madewell, and Kennedi Copeland.

The match will determine the No. 1 contender in August.
