A gateway to Greylock — at any other time

Much of the Mount Greylock State Reservation lies within Lanesborough, with Rockwell Road providing access to the Greylock Visitors Center and then the summit area, which is in Adams. The summit roads are off-limits to vehicles for several years because of a $20 million-plus state-funded reconstruction project. The visitors center, with an impressive view into the Housatonic Valley, remains open, and hikers can continue to ascend the mountain via a network of trails, including the Appalachian Trail.
