A good example for Bold Eagle

Monday June 17, 2013

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

I am writing to thank you, on behalf of the Bold Eagle, for its free Berkshire Eagle subscription.

As a student newspaper written and produced by Mount Everett Regional High School’s journalism and world affairs class, we find an example of a real-life newspaper most relevant in our studies. Our teacher, Mr. Lang, always finds a daily article or two for the class to read and discuss, and he uses The Berkshire Eagle’s format as an example of the proper newspaper format.

Students also enjoy reading the paper in their free time for its articles, features, editorials, and letters to the editor. Articles in The Berkshire Eagle often inspire student writers to talk about new and interesting topics via the Bold Eagle as well.

In summary, The Berkshire Eagle is a critical piece of the Bold Eagle’s work to produce a good student paper. The Berkshire Eagle is essential to the class in its role as a realistic and informative newspaper for all students to read and discuss. Our free subscription allows the Bold Eagle access to a good paper to talk about and read, which doubles as an example of what a good paper should look like.

Thank you for the free subscription to this enlightening newspaper.

The writer is the executive editor of the Bold Eagle, the student newspaper at Mount Everett Regional High School. Schools throughout Berkshire County that receive a daily copy of the paper do so through The Eagle’s Newspapers In Education program.
