Abortion should not be birth control
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I hesitate to respond to controversial issues, but I must on Milton Bass’ op-ed commentary of July 21 "Perry walks out, Davis walks on in rouge-red").
He talks about abortion and a woman’s right to choose what happens to and with her body. Come on folks, we are not talking about a tattoo or body piercing here, we are talking about murder of an innocent child as a method of birth control. There is no need for abortion except in cases of rape or to save the mother’s life. With the numerous methods of birth control, an unplanned pregnancy should not be an issue. If a woman makes the choice to have unprotected sex, she should choose to accept the consequences.
The life she chooses to end just might be the doctor that will find a cure for cancer or whatever disease eludes a cure in 30 years! What about the rights of the father to see his child mature?
