Act of kindness comes out of the blue

Monday July 29, 2013

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

Recently, I discovered that my bank debit card was missing. After frantically searching and calling everyplace I could think of, I went to my bank to report it lost. When my account was accessed it said that the card had been reported lost the day before. Someone named Casey had apparently found my card, called the 800 number listed on the back and reported that it had been found. My card had already been canceled before I even knew that it was missing! I arranged for a replacement card and went home feeling tremendously relieved that my account was safe and sound.

Every once in awhile an act of kindness comes out of the blue to make us smile and realize that there are a lot of truly caring people in this world. Unfortunately, we generally don’t hear about the good people, only the bad.

So, Casey, I hope you read this and know that I thank you so much. I appreciate that you not only reported finding my wayward debit card but also you reminded me that in these hectic times there are still people like you who make the world a nicer place.
